Hashtag Black Men Reading

Many times when a photo is shown, by the mainstream media of a black man, its normally a depiction of the same stereotype. In the subways of New York City, one woman is taking photos of images not shown in the media. Rachel Cargle has started a photo series called #BlackMenReading.

Rachel says “It is so meaningful in how this series can shift the images we are bombarded with of black men being killed so frequently these days. We need to push for a higher agenda. One of empowerment, enlightenment and authenticity.”
