It is officially time to bring it into the end zone. After years of drama on and off the football field, The CW has announced that its beloved, culturally impactful series All American will return for its eighth and final season this summer.

Fans can officially mark their calendars for Monday, July 13, when the groundbreaking sports drama will return with a massive two-hour premiere event starting at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Before the final chapter officially begins, the network is making sure the show gets the victory lap it deserves. On Monday, June 22, The CW will air an hour-long retrospective titled All American: The Final Season Special. The tribute will chronicle the journeys of the beloved Beverly Hills and South Crenshaw crews, looking back at the series’ most memorable moments, milestones, and relationships that helped redefine the modern sports drama.

Reflecting on the emotional final chapter, executive producer and showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll shared a heartfelt message about wrapping the long-running series.

“How do you say goodbye to family? Because that is what these characters, these actors, this All American crew and staff are after eight beautiful, hard-fought, seasons together,” Carroll said in a statement. “What we realized was that just like when your kids grow up and finally leave home, this wasn’t goodbye… It was a tear-filled I’ll see you soon. So, to our fans who have rocked with us faithfully for over a hundred episodes, we hope you enjoy this final season as much as we enjoyed making it.”

Longtime fans know that the series underwent a major soft reboot between Seasons 6 and 7, saying goodbye to original stars like Daniel Ezra (Spencer James) and Samantha Logan (Olivia Baker) to focus on a new generation of talent alongside remaining original cast members Michael Evans Behling (Jordan), Greta Onieogou (Layla), and Bre-Z (Coop).

The upcoming eighth season will pick up six months after the massive Season 7 finale cliffhanger, where viewers were left wondering who won the high-stakes game between the Beverly High Eagles and South Crenshaw Chargers right after the final pass was thrown.

Interestingly, the showrunners are taking a unique approach to the final episodes. The entire eighth season will span just one single week in the lives of the Beverly and Crenshaw crews. According to the official synopsis, this intense, pivotal week will find the characters pursuing their individual dreams, which will unexpectedly challenge their friendships and familial bonds.

The eighth season of All American premieres on July 13.

With the clock winding down, we are ready to see how All American secures its final victory.
