Usher’s Past Present Future tour made a stop at The O2 in London this week — and just when fans thought the sold-out show couldn’t get any better, R&B royalty Craig David stepped on stage.

The British singer-songwriter, best known for early 2000s hits like 7 Days and Fill Me In, joined Usher live to perform his signature track 7 Days. It was the reunion of two eras of R&B but also a personal dream for David.

“Feeling truly blessed to share the stage with the legend @Usher 🙏🏽 This is a real full-circle moment for me 🎶✨ Growing up, I had ‘I Think of You’ and ‘U Make Me Wanna’ on repeat 🔄🔥 He’s always been an artist I deeply respect and one of the greatest to ever do it 💯 Thank you for this incredible moment 💫,” David posted on his X account with a video of him performing.

For fans in the crowd, watching David and Usher trade melodies in real time felt like witnessing a long-overdue R&B reunion.

Their performance was perfect given David’s longstanding admiration for Usher. In an interview with BANG Showbiz during Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball, David revealed that collaborating with the U Got It Bad singer has always been on his bucket list.

“For me, having grown up listening to Usher, I feel that would be a great… we would create something special,” David shared. He recalled a moment between the two artists: “We had a moment at a place called Skyrock at a radio station over there in Paris and we did a little freestyle on the radio back when I was releasing Fill Me In, 7 Days, and he had You Make Me Wanna… and was about to go into his 8701 album, so it was a moment.”

That early connection, dating back more than two decades, came full circle onstage in London. Usher, fresh off the success of his Coming Home album and historic Super Bowl halftime performance, has been delivering high-energy, emotionally resonant shows throughout his tour — and this surprise appearance by Craig David was a masterclass in cross-Atlantic collaboration.

Let’s hope this shared moment was just the beginning of more to come. A Craig David–Usher collaboration track? We’re already manifesting it.
