Michael B. Jordan is on a roll, and he’s not slowing down anytime soon. Just as his latest film, Sinners, is dominating the box office, the actor and producer has announced the release date for his reimagining of the classic The Thomas Crown Affair.

Scheduled to hit theaters on March 5, 2027, the film will also be shown in IMAX.

This new version of The Thomas Crown Affair is being produced by Jordan through his Outlier Society production company. While plot details remain under wraps, it’s clear that Jordan is aiming to put his own unique spin on the story, which has previously been told in both the 1968 original starring Steve McQueen and the 1999 remake with Pierce Brosnan.

In both previous versions, the movie centers around a wealthy playboy who pulls off a daring art heist and finds himself matching wits with a determined investigator—whether it’s the sharp insurance investigator (played by Faye Dunaway in the ’68 version) or the no-nonsense detective (played by Rene Russo in the ’99 version).

Fans of the original films will be awaiting to see how Jordan’s reimagining updates this iconic plot, especially with his star power and Outlier Society’s involvement in the production.

This news comes at an exciting time for Jordan, who is currently celebrating the success of Sinners, his period vampire thriller directed by Ryan Coogler. The film has not only garnered rave reviews, including a rare A CinemaScore, but has also grossed $48 million domestically in its opening weekend.

With Sinners set to continue performing well at the box office, Jordan is riding high, and The Thomas Crown Affair is shaping up to be another major milestone in his career.
