Lil Nas X is currently recovering after revealing that he has temporarily lost control of the right side of his face. The Old Country Road rapper took to Instagram on Monday night to share a video of himself in a hospital bed, explaining that he was experiencing facial paralysis.

“This is me doing a full smile right now, by the way,” Nas said in the video. “I’m just like, what the f**k? I can’t even laugh right, bro. What the f**k? Oh my God, bro. So… yeah.”

The Grammy-winning rapper hasn’t confirmed the exact cause of the condition, but many fans online have speculated it could be Bell’s Palsy, a temporary condition that causes weakness or paralysis on one side of the face, often triggered by inflammation of the facial nerve.

Despite the unsettling news, the 26-year-old reassures fans that he’s in good spirits. Posting to his Instagram Story, Nas wrote, “Guys I am OK!! Stop being sad for me! Shake ur ass for me instead!”

Though Bell’s Palsy has not been officially confirmed, the condition is typically temporary and can be triggered by a variety of factors, including infections, high blood pressure, or stress. Recovery timelines vary, but most people regain full facial function within weeks to months.

Praying Lil Nas X has a speedy recovery.
