This spring, The Quintessential Gentleman is capturing the next generation’s narrative of Black men’s style—and we want you in the frame.
On Saturday, April 26, we’re calling Black men of all ages, styles, and stories to gather in Harlem for a powerful flash mob photoshoot led by internationally renowned photographer J. Monroe.

The moments captured will serve as the official May cover shoot for The Quintessential Gentleman, presented under the theme SUPERFINE—a tribute to the timeless elegance, strength, and cultural legacy of Black men expressed through the language of style.
Inspired by Gordon Parks‘ legendary 1963 photograph Black Muslims in America, this modern reimagining is more than a photoshoot — it’s a movement. With suits as armor and unity as the message, SUPERFINE is a living portrait of Black excellence, discipline, and dignity.
Harlem’s architectural beauty will serve as the backdrop for this striking visual story, which will be featured by the premier media platform for Black men.
We’re channeling sophistication with purpose, calling for a refined, intentional aesthetic that speaks volumes without saying a word. Picture tailored suits, three-piece ensembles, or structured outerwear that command presence.
Embrace rich earth tones or timeless dark hues that evoke strength and elegance. Complete the look with accessories like fedoras, leather gloves, trench coats, pocket squares, and polished shoes. Every detail matters—because your look is your statement.
Captured by J. Monroe, the photographer behind some of The Quintessential Gentleman’s most iconic covers, this shoot will be a centerpiece of editorial exploration of Black dandyism and the future of style.
