FX has officially greenlit a pilot for a “Snowfall” spinoff, Variety reports.
The new series is set to delve deeper into the lives of Wanda Bell-Simmons and Leon Simmons, portrayed by Gail Bean and Isaiah John, respectively. Both actors are set to reprise their roles.
“Set in 90s Los Angeles soon after the end of the original series, a recovering addict (Bean) strives to take West Coast rap mainstream despite potential infighting from a harrowing gang war,” the official log line states.
Malcolm Spellman, known for his work on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, will pen the pilot and serve as an executive producer. He is joined by Snowfall alumni Dave Andron, Thomas Schlamme, Julie DeJoie, Michael London, and Trevor Engelson in executive producing roles.
