  • Lewis Hamilton Launches Mercedes-AMG F1 Street Car

Not all empanadas are made the same and apparently, neither are cars. Formula One racing star, Lewis Hamilton, debuts the Mercedes-AMG’s F1. The rocket on four wheels was built as a 50 year anniversary for Mercedes performance line AMG. The vehicle has over 1000 horsepower and can go 0-124 in less than six seconds. Just for a point of reference, that metric is typically reserved for cars that go 0-60 in six seconds. The 2015 Ferrari 458 Spider has 570 HP, the 2017 Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce Coupe possess a horsepower of 740 but is still well shy. {Photo: Daimler AG} Nascar restricts their cars to engines to only 725 HP as of 2015 (I say only as if my Impreza doesn’t ONLY have 160 HP). The F1 street racer through all its horsepower and sleek design is said to have a top speed of 217 mph. Other noted facts about the AMG F1: It is apparently a Hybrid. Save the planet at 200 miles an hour. Can do 16 miles on pure electricity It can “rev” up 11,000 RPM’s ( I have read that this is “staggering”) OH, and one last thing, For the modest assessment of £2.4 million ($3.248 Million) the car could be yours with just one minor snag, it’s already sold out. #Mercedes #LewisHamilton #AMG #Cars #Formulaone

  • Ray Edwards Jr. Talks Transitioning from NFL to Boxing, Fitness, and Fashion

Check out our interview with Boxer, Model, and Fitness Enthusiasts Ray Edwards Jr. What sparked your interest in Boxing? It was something I always had a passion for since I was a little kid. From watching guys like Mike Tyson, Roy Jones, Floyd Mayweather and Bernard Hopkins. How was the transition been from NFL to Boxing? It’s been tough as people don’t like you crossing over into their sport. For instance, with football, everything is pretty much set for you. You’re drafted to a team and you play for that team for however long you sign a contract for. But in boxing, it’s a dog eat dog world. You don’t know who’s with you or against you. What is the difference in physical training for boxing as opposed to what you have done to prepare for the NFL? The amount of cardio that is needed to perform at the elite level. In boxing, I was running 3-4 miles a day and in football, it’s more like a mile a day. But in football, the strength part is more strenuous as it requires more heavy lifting and in boxing, you can really get away with just a lot of calisthenics and resistance training. What is does a daily workout routine look like for your personal fitness? 5 am: I Do a 3-4 mile jog 7 am: Strength training lifting weights and high-intensity resistance training 10 am: Boxing training 6 rounds on the heavy bag, 6 rounds on the mitts, 6 rounds on the jump rope and 4 rounds on the speed bag 6 pm: Another cardio session and core What would you describe as a healthy lifestyle, and what are your health practices that you feel people should adopt? Find something you can consistently do every day whether it be push-ups, sit-ups, jumping jacks, walking or jogging. Just be consistent. Have a balanced lifestyle eating and exercise. Relaxing i.e. hot baths, ice baths and massages as recovery is key. Most importantly enjoy the process. Find something you love doing and have fun staying healthy. What advice do you give to men who want to become more fit? Just be dedicated to making yourself better and completing any goal you have set. What tips do have to stay mentally motivated on your health and fitness journey as well as your career journey? Find what it is exactly you are looking to accomplish body type and don’t let anything stop you. For me, I always want to look better than the best I’ve ever felt I looked and most importantly I always want to be physically active with friends family and most importantly my children and to set a great example for them. Just wanting to look my best at all times and never look like everyone else. Also to set my own trends and to let people know it’s okay to step outside the box in your fashion statement and not follow the masses. We’re all unique and fashion is definitely a way to show that. You also have a fashion line. What is True Ink and how did that come about? True ink came about through just being the motivational person I am and I wanted a way to spread my wisdom to everyone. What can we look forward to from Ray Edwards Jr.? I’m looking to change the game in men’s underwear, crazy motivation shirts that bring about positivity in this world and completing all dreams and goals that come to mind. • Siergio Returns with New Hit Single “On My Way”

Siergio fans have been waiting for this day to come for over a year. He spent most of 2017 wrapped in the studio recording new music and filming. The Chicago reared singer’s 2016 release, “Songs for the Jeep”, was a major success. The LP peaked at #35 on iTunes R&B and went on to sell thousands of copies worldwide. Last Thursday, the R&B singer shared the cover and release date for his highly anticipated new single “On My Way”. So what does this all mean? It means the wait is over and he is back with an atmospheric banger. “On My Way”, produced by Atlanta producer Dj Cool, is consistent with a strong calypso/island feel. The tune follows right into the dancehall footsteps while offering something new and refreshing. Smooth drums and a ravishing melody, it is with pleasure you get to hear a different sound from the vocalist.  The song opens with the crooner pleading with his on and off again “bae” to answer the phone.  After the two made plans for a romantic evening, things don’t look as promising as the singer can’t seem to reach his distant lover. Wrapped up with work and grad school, it’s apparent that she may not have time for their relationship. The singer travels through the city to find his love and forces her to find the time for the diminishing relationship. “It’s been too long since you’ve been gone and every time I reach out for ya’..it kills me that you’re not here next to me”, the singer exclaims. In many ways “On My Way” is undeniable and it’s certainly a gem. Siergio’s voice is adequately honeyed. He could sing anything and make it sound sexy and intriguing—and that is what he does here. In a “trap&b” world, it’s refreshing to hear the singer choose the lane less traveled. Peep the visual below, directed by Ace Drewman. You can also cop the single on iTunes x Google Play and stream it on Apple Music, Tidal, and Spotify. Check out the video below. #OnMyWay #Siergio

  • Migos, Jill Scott, Yasiin Bey, Jidenna & More Perform at ONE MusicFest 2017

Over 20,000 attendees traveled to experience ONE MusicFest, the Southeast’s largest urban music and arts festival in Atlanta, Georgia. Founded by Jason Carter, ONE Musicfest has been one of Southeast’s largest home-grown, musical arts festival to date including over 20,000 plus attendees. Carter has brought Atlanta music lovers the best and the brightest urban alternative acts performing in a welcoming, hospitable setting, creating an atmosphere where everyone can enjoy and discover music. Atlanta City Council presented J. Carter and the ONE MusicFest organizers with a City Proclamation announcing September 9th as officially ONE Musicfest Day in Atlanta, Ga. “There is a lack of representation for soul, progressive hip-hop, alternative and rock, represented under one roof, in the format of music festivals in Atlanta”, states J Carter, ONE MusicFest Producer.  “We have noticed that while there are many pockets of individuals that share taste in the same music, rarely do you see them share in this together. ONE Musicfest was created with the idea of ‘music as the universal language’. Over time we aim to grow this fest into a phenomenon and bring together different sectors of individuals through a unique music platform.” #RoJames #JillScott #OneMusicfest #TooShort #MosDef #Jidenna

  • Turkish Billionaire, Emir Bahadir, Speaks on What it Means to be a True Jetsetter and Men’s Fa

Jetsetter is a term used very loosely in today’s culture. If you hop on a plane from New York to the Bahamas twice a year, some may call you a jetsetter. We had the opportunity to speak to Turkish Billionaire Emir Bahadir who is a true jetsetter. Check out our interview below as he talks traveling the world, Fashion and Rich Kids of Instagram. Growing up, I was constantly traveling all over the world with my family and I attended an international boarding school in Switzerland where I made so many incredible friends and was exposed to all their different cultures. I think this upbringing helped me become a “global citizen.” I am able to connect with people on a personal level about where they’re from and what their passions are. I’ve always focused on the bigger picture, whether it be my work or personal life. I think personal connection with the people I work with and hanging out with them is the most important thing and this translated into my social media. Whether it’s my style, the events I attend or the friends I am with, being real and honest helps me develop a natural connection with my followers. I think that is the key to social media success and of the reasons I amassed global recognition. I started using Instagram as an album for myself and my friends, organic and real snaps of my day to day lifestyle and travels. People seemed interested in finding more about me, and I decided to follow this path to show them my real life. I hope that I can be an inspiration to young people that want to grow their own businesses and forge their own paths as entrepreneurs, as well as an inspirational role model to the younger generation entrepreneurs. You are the epitome of a modern day jet setter. What does it mean to be a jetsetter and how do you set your own trends as opposed to following them? I was raised in a family where no one ever followed in anyone’s footsteps. We all were determined and inspired to create our own businesses and bring our own ideas to life. I was groomed to be creative, innovative, and independent from a very young age. Seeing my family run their businesses, I was able to learn how to be an effective manager and leader and I think this naturally translated to setting my own trends. To me, jetsetting means being connected all over the world, rather than just being able to travel constantly. Anyone with means can travel the world without a problem, but real experiences come from knowing the locals and developing a real appreciation for wherever it is that you are. If you don’t learn from the destination you are in, you will always be a tourist and not a jetsetter. Your last name is Bahadir, which you have turned into a popular hashtag (#Bahadiring). What does that mean and how has that taken your brand to the next level? Whenever I do something, whether it be planning a trip, organizing a dinner party, or starting a new business venture, I like to be in control of every detail from start to finish. Because of this, friends always ask me where to eat, where to stay, how to get there, and what to wear. I became somewhat of a “lifestyle connoisseur”. When all these aspects come together, it is #Bahadiring. It started as something I used personally and with my friends, then on social media and it only grew from there. The hashtag gained popularity in Turkey and slowly made its way all over the world. I never expected it to be as big as it is, but now I aim to use Bahadiring as my umbrella brand. The first thing I did was change my real estate company’s name to Bahadiring Realty, which functions as a brokerage and development firm based out of New York City. Now, I am working on various collaborations with skin care and fashion brands. Eventually, I would like to dive into different industries where I see a lack in the market and try to fill this gap by using my brand, Bahadiring. Anyone who follows your Instagram page, which now almost has 600,000 followers will see that fashion is a common thread throughout your posts. How important is fashion to you and why is it important to highlight your style on social media? Fashion is important to me because I believe that first impressions are the most memorable. Being well put together and stylish really sets a person apart from the rest, especially during your first encounter with someone. Because of my large social media following, I think people expect me to look a certain way and always be well dressed. I love to take risks with my outfits and I always go for the bolder choice, so it’s become somewhat of a trademark for me on my social media. Being interested in fashion makes it easy for me to put together a look and now it is something I have fun with and look forward to. No longer just a hashtag, Bahadiring has been coined as the name for your new menswear collection? When does that launch and what kind of items can we expect from the collection? It is expected to launch shortly and it will include a diverse and very fashionable line of clothing, focusing on high quality comfort and versatility. We will also be launching skin care for businessmen and jetsetters on the go, with a face and eye mask that is easy and quick to use, yet effective. As an entrepreneur and lifestyle connoisseur, what advice would you give other gentleman looking to be enterprising in fashion and business? The most important thing is to find a project you truly believe in and are passionate about. There are always risks involved in starting a new business, but if you feel deep down that it’s the right project, it makes it much easier to take those risks. Every product that I work on is a product that I myself would buy in a heartbeat. I feel a sense of pride with everything that I do as an entrepreneur and I would suggest that anyone who wants to branch out in business feels the same about their projects. Your followers look to you as somewhat of a trend forecaster in terms of fashion, with that being said what designer or designers are you wearing now and who do you have your eyes on for the near future? I don’t like to stick to one brand. I’d rather pick and choose what I like and put together different styles in a way that suits me. Just like everyone else, I do have my obsessions and favorites. I like Dolce & Gabbana for silk wear, the quality is great, the fit is comfortable, and the colors and patterns are bold. I like Balmain for leather and suede pants, and Fendi for their brave fur jackets for men. Every designer has that one thing that they do better than anyone else and I shop accordingly. That’s what makes shopping fun for me. I’m also not afraid of trying new, up and coming designers and learning more about their concepts. It helps me learn more about my own personal taste when I see something new that I may not have tried before. I was part of the main cast on Rich Kids of Instagram. The reason I chose to do this show was to show people that coming from wealth does not necessarily mean that I am an arrogant and wasteful human being. I am a hard working entrepreneur that’s always happy to take risks and start new businesses. I feel that the audience got the message and the feedback showed I was motivational to the younger generation. I wanted to show people that coming from a privileged background does not mean that you have to be unmotivated. This show made me think about other TV related projects I am currently working on as well. It opened up a passion I had not been aware of before. In addition to men’s fashion, it’s been said that you will be venturing into the realm of male cosmetics. Tell us about this and why are male grooming and skin care a critical niche market for you? It’s always been important for me to look and feel my best. With skincare, I felt it was hard to find something made for the busy man on the go. I developed an eye mask and face mask that you can wear while getting ready and simply toss it away when you’re done. It leaves your skin feeling hydrated and refreshed in just 15 minutes. It’s super convenient and I haven’t seen anything like it. I want my lifestyle brand to cater to men that want the best in life but work hard and need versatile products and I feel that this skincare line does just that. Make sure to follow Emir Bahadir on Instagram. #EmirBahadir #Fashion #Traveling

  • Ralph Lauren. Designer Channels 007 in Opulent Show

James Bond may have had a couple Aston Martins, and a Bentley or two. But Ralph Lauren? He has dozens upon dozens of vintage cars — hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth. And on Tuesday night, Lauren used those gleaming specimens of automotive glory — said to be one of the largest collections in the world, and long kept relatively hidden — to display his latest fashion line, taking the concept of site-specific fashion shows to new (and expensive) heights. The fashions began with dapper suits in houndstooth and checks — in both men’s and sexier women’s designs — including a checked bustier with skinny pants, and a strapless floor-length gown. There was lots of shiny black leather — jackets, tops, pants. The mood switched from tweedy to slinky, with gowns in shiny fabrics meant to evoke the sleekness of the cars. Many had leather bustiers on top, with skirts of filmy tulle. The color scheme, too, was in sync with the automobiles: Model Kendall Jenner wore a shiny yellow-and-black gown, and Bella Hadid a gleaming red creation. There were loads motorcycle jackets, and Lauren seemed to be referring in one outfit to Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garcons and her ballerina biker look, with a leather bomber and a long skirt in yellow tulle. Lauren emerged in a driver’s jumpsuit, stopping to clasp hands with Wintour along his customary lap of the runway. Guests were led to a lower floor, where there were more cars, more champagne, and dinner. Chastain, speaking after the show, said she was a huge fan of the clothes, but wasn’t sure whether to describe herself as an automobile fan. “I’m not really a car girl to be honest,” she said. “But my husband is a huge car guy. (And) I did get picked up in a 2006 Bugatti, which was pretty spectacular. So I may be a car girl and not know it.” Written By Jocelyn Noveck and Nicole Evatt at AP. #NYFW #RalphLauren

  • ‘Downsized’ Starring Boris Kodjoe & Nicole Ari Parker Premieres on TV One Sept. 16

TV One’s original film Downsized, starring husband and wife duo Boris Kodjoe (Code Black, Undercovers) and Nicole Ari Parker (Almost Christmas, Time After Time), will premiere on Saturday, September 16 at 9 p.m. ET. The film, written by the 2016 TV One American Black Film Festival Screenplay Competition finalist Michelle McKissic, made its world premiere at this year’s festival held in June in Miami. In Downsized, Kodjoe, and Parker portray Michael and Ebony, high school sweethearts who were forced into marriage by their parents after a teen pregnancy. Fast forward 25 years and four children later, and Michael and Ebony typify the modern family – successful careers, beautiful home and all the trappings of success. To the world, they appear to have it all. Yet, the rewards that success has brought them have instead driven the family further apart from each other. Michael and Ebony have reached a crossroads in their marriage and are ready to carry out their plan to go their separate ways following their eldest daughter’s graduation from law school. However, Michael has a change of heart. Hoping to reignite the spark that first brought them together, he whisks the family away for a month-long vacation, returning to their first home in the countryside to unplug and reconnect with one another. The trip becomes a journey of self-discovery for Michael and Ebony, as well as their children. Will the couple that appears to have it all on the surface discover that everything they really want, they already have? Quite the opposite of their characters, Kodjoe and Parker have been happily married for 12 years and have two children. The stunning couple originally met while playing love interests on the iconic television show, Soul Food, and have since worked together in several productions, including Second Time Around, Brown Sugar, and The Boris and Nicole Show. The pair says they always enjoy the opportunity to work together, however, doing so on Downsized afforded them an opportunity to really reflect on their marriage while portraying a couple at odds with one another. “One of the things I discovered was how much we are affected by family and how much family means to us. I’ve always known that, but it’s a nice experience to walk through that again on camera. We have made family our number one priority, and it’s kind of nice to be able to play that in a film as well,” says Kodjoe. Parker agrees there’s much to be learned from the couple’s push and pull while debating the future of their relationship. “Nowadays, we’re all programmed to walk away and look out for self when things get tough, but there is glory when you work as a team to get through the rough patch…I really appreciated that in the story. Joy does come in the morning when you push through,” says Parker. “Marriage isn’t for everybody. It’s not easy, and yet it’s so rewarding if you fight for it.” Downsized also stars Alix Lapri, (Red Band Society, Reed Between The Lines), Isaiah John (Snowfall, Saints & Sinners), Racquel Bianca John (Born Again Virgin, Justice By Any Means), and  (Bessie, Under The Dome). The film is directed by Rhonda Baraka, written by Michelle McKissic, and produced for TV One by Roger M. Bobb and Angi Bones of Bobbcat Films. For TV One, Jubba Seyyid serves as executive-in-charge of production and director of programming; Donyell Kennedy-McCullough as senior director of talent and casting; Robyn Greene Arrington is vice president of original programming, and D’Angela Proctor is executive producer and head of original programming and production.
