  • Dylan Dili Private Listening Party for his New Album “Pain 2 Power”

On Wednesday, Dylan Dili hosted a listening party for his new album “Pain 2 Power” in Brooklyn. Best known for being the Carribean star from P. Diddy’s Making the Band, Dylan has continued to tour and make music. Finally, he has finished his album and ready to share it with the world. Dylan stated, “I’m still speechless … not many words can describe the love that was shown at the listening event. To see people pay attention and really listen and enjoy the vibes that we took time to create…was a dream come true. I saw that it inspired many and even the dance tracks had people literally jumping up!  So I’m happy and now it’s time for the whole world to soak in “Pain 2 Power”! Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey and all who came out to the amazing night. One love.” His latest album is submitted for consideration of the Grammy’s in the reggae category and is set to release at the end of this month! There are twelve tracks on the album which show a musical maturity and growth from an artist who was thrown into fame at an early age. This solo album shows Dili’s vulnerable side and describes detailed life experiences. Pain 2 Power shows the struggles of life that we encounter on a day to day basis. As the album progresses it also depicts the joy, fun, and power of life that we experience through the dancehall tracks. Pain 2 Power is a monumental album that allows listeners to relate to the ups and downs of the artist through his journey called life. Pre-order Pain 2 Power here. #DylanDili #Music #Reggae

  • ‘WINNING’ by G.I. Available In Stores & Online Now

“Pray And Don’t Worry” is one of the hottest gospel songs of 2017. The inspiring urban-flavored track with the trap drum loop and slick vocals scorched its way to the Top Ten on Billboard Magazine’s prestigious Gospel Airplay and Hot Gospel Songs charts. It’s also earned the Richmond, Virginia-based trio known as G.I. its first Stellar Gospel Music Award nomination earlier this year but this is no overnight success story. Over a period of years, the group has endured personnel changes, broken promises from record industry leaders and growing pains within the gospel music genre itself. In spite of it all, G.I. has played the game well and is now winning. G.I.’s new album Winning (BGA Music Group/Shanachie) is available now. The group’s highly anticipated third album features their new single “We Win” as well as a cameo from TV One’s R&B Diva, Keke Wyatt. “All the songs have a similar theme as far as the elements we need to win in every aspect of life,” says Branden Anderson, the group’s mellow mastermind, and co-founder. “Whether it be your spiritual life, in your job, or in your marriage. These songs all deal with some level of winning.” G.I.’s infectious new radio single, “We Win,” is a lilting conversation with God that builds into a rousing congregational sing-a-long. In the song, the fellas serenade the listener with testimonies of winning life’s battles because of God’s able defense. “You’re the king, you are strong, you are mighty and we win,” they sing passionately on the catchy refrain. The 13-track set of Winning showcases G.I.’s groundbreaking contemporary gospel sound that encompasses 21st-century R&B, Trap, Hip Hop rhythms and even a little old school soul flavor. G.I. fans have come to expect the trio’s fusion of youthful urban music instrumentation with uplifting faith-based messages and Winning continues that legacy. Since its formation in 1997 as God’s Image (aka G.I.), the group has endured enough ups and downs to having abandoned its musical aspirations a long time ago but they have persevered. “There are so many disappointing stories,” Branden confesses. “Before we got our first deal, we thought we had a couple of deals but they fell through. We’ve had many disappointments but the passion outweighs it all.” The passion began with Branden and his brother, Marlon Anderson, who was raised on gospel music. They loved it so much that they decided to form a gospel group with their buddy, Avon “AC” White. They began to perform regionally. White left the group in 1998 and was replaced by Curtis Langley. Then, in 2003, Curtis’s high school classmate, Lamonte Harris, joined and they operated as a foursome for almost a decade, building a solid reputation on the East Coast. Eventually, Marlon left the group and in 2014, Curtis left too and was replaced by Rufus Johnson, a high school choir teacher working in North Carolina, whom Branden had known since they were in the third grade. “Growing up, Rufus was the man,” Lamonte says of the group’s newest member who had a stellar reputation as both an R&B and gospel singer even during his teens. “We all went to Henrico High School. Back then, Rufus was the person everyone wanted to sing like. I was kind of a fan of Rufus before he ever joined the group.” There’s a brotherhood uniting these three mellow, respectful but determined personalities who always buoy one another when doubt creeps into the picture. Winning showcases G.I.’s growth from the Boyz who delivered fun tracks such as “Get Up” early in their career to the thought-provoking Men who now push the musical envelope while inspiring their fans to increase their faith and to become winners in this game called life. G.I is without a doubt, one of the hottest up-and-coming artists charting new directions for the gospel. So, what does the future hold for G.I.? “I really see us continuing to do what we’ve done but becoming better at it,” Lamonte says. “I think every album shows our personal growth. I think we’ll continue to be a voice for people who are not traditionally churched, and they don’t want to move from a Chris Brown to a Shirley Caesar track. That’s not an easy transition. Our whole vision is to make an impact on people and to let them know this whole church thing isn’t boring. It can still be fun. That’s our mission.” #GI #Music

  • Dapper Dan collaborates with Gucci

We’ve all seen the popular photo of Olympian, Diane Dixon floating around social media. She was wearing a fur coat with puffy sleeves that was custom made using pirated designer materials, well in this case the classic Louis Vuitton momogram. This creation and so many like it was designed by Daniel Day, who most people know as Dapper Dan. Dan was very popular in the 80s and 90s where he custom made pieces for the fashion forward in his Harlem shop. His business would eventually close due to lawsuits by luxury brands. Well now its a new day and Gucci is using his designs as inspiration. Via High Snobiety The partnership comes shortly after the Italian fashion house was accused of copying one of Dapper Dan’s designs for Olympian Diane Dixon—a puffy-shouldered fur bomber originally emblazoned with Louis Vuitton monograms. In response, Creative Director Alessandro Michele clarified that it wasn’t a copy, but rather an homage to the tailor’s work. Dapper Dan—born Daniel Day—took the jacket as homage initially, telling the NYT: “I was just excited about it being there. The part about appropriation, Alessandro and I are part of two parallel universes. The magic that took place as a result of what he did was bringing these two parallel universes together. That opened a dialogue between us when we finally got in touch with each other. I found out how similar our experiences were, the way he grew up and the way I grew up, and how he was influenced by me. I was never apprehensive about what took place. The public was more up in arms than me.” The new Dapper Dan tailor shop—which will be powered by Gucci—is set to open at the end of this year. His collaborative capsule collection with the house, including a campaign shot in Harlem and featuring him prominently, will debut next spring. How’s that for turning the tables? This summer at Made in America we saw Beyonce sporting Gucci’s Dapper Dan inspired coat. We cant wait to see what menswear looks will come out of this collaboration. You know we will be the first to let our readers know what men’s fashion will be birthed from this new partnership. Check below for pics of Dapper Dan’s throwback designs and Gucci’s take on the Dapper Dan coat.

  • Lewis Hamilton Launches Mercedes-AMG F1 Street Car

Not all empanadas are made the same and apparently, neither are cars. Formula One racing star, Lewis Hamilton, debuts the Mercedes-AMG’s F1. The rocket on four wheels was built as a 50 year anniversary for Mercedes performance line AMG. The vehicle has over 1000 horsepower and can go 0-124 in less than six seconds. Just for a point of reference, that metric is typically reserved for cars that go 0-60 in six seconds. The 2015 Ferrari 458 Spider has 570 HP, the 2017 Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce Coupe possess a horsepower of 740 but is still well shy. {Photo: Daimler AG} Nascar restricts their cars to engines to only 725 HP as of 2015 (I say only as if my Impreza doesn’t ONLY have 160 HP). The F1 street racer through all its horsepower and sleek design is said to have a top speed of 217 mph. Other noted facts about the AMG F1: It is apparently a Hybrid. Save the planet at 200 miles an hour. Can do 16 miles on pure electricity It can “rev” up 11,000 RPM’s ( I have read that this is “staggering”) OH, and one last thing, For the modest assessment of £2.4 million ($3.248 Million) the car could be yours with just one minor snag, it’s already sold out. #Mercedes #LewisHamilton #AMG #Cars #Formulaone

  • Ray Edwards Jr. Talks Transitioning from NFL to Boxing, Fitness, and Fashion

Check out our interview with Boxer, Model, and Fitness Enthusiasts Ray Edwards Jr. What sparked your interest in Boxing? It was something I always had a passion for since I was a little kid. From watching guys like Mike Tyson, Roy Jones, Floyd Mayweather and Bernard Hopkins. How was the transition been from NFL to Boxing? It’s been tough as people don’t like you crossing over into their sport. For instance, with football, everything is pretty much set for you. You’re drafted to a team and you play for that team for however long you sign a contract for. But in boxing, it’s a dog eat dog world. You don’t know who’s with you or against you. What is the difference in physical training for boxing as opposed to what you have done to prepare for the NFL? The amount of cardio that is needed to perform at the elite level. In boxing, I was running 3-4 miles a day and in football, it’s more like a mile a day. But in football, the strength part is more strenuous as it requires more heavy lifting and in boxing, you can really get away with just a lot of calisthenics and resistance training. What is does a daily workout routine look like for your personal fitness? 5 am: I Do a 3-4 mile jog 7 am: Strength training lifting weights and high-intensity resistance training 10 am: Boxing training 6 rounds on the heavy bag, 6 rounds on the mitts, 6 rounds on the jump rope and 4 rounds on the speed bag 6 pm: Another cardio session and core What would you describe as a healthy lifestyle, and what are your health practices that you feel people should adopt? Find something you can consistently do every day whether it be push-ups, sit-ups, jumping jacks, walking or jogging. Just be consistent. Have a balanced lifestyle eating and exercise. Relaxing i.e. hot baths, ice baths and massages as recovery is key. Most importantly enjoy the process. Find something you love doing and have fun staying healthy. What advice do you give to men who want to become more fit? Just be dedicated to making yourself better and completing any goal you have set. What tips do have to stay mentally motivated on your health and fitness journey as well as your career journey? Find what it is exactly you are looking to accomplish body type and don’t let anything stop you. For me, I always want to look better than the best I’ve ever felt I looked and most importantly I always want to be physically active with friends family and most importantly my children and to set a great example for them. Just wanting to look my best at all times and never look like everyone else. Also to set my own trends and to let people know it’s okay to step outside the box in your fashion statement and not follow the masses. We’re all unique and fashion is definitely a way to show that. You also have a fashion line. What is True Ink and how did that come about? True ink came about through just being the motivational person I am and I wanted a way to spread my wisdom to everyone. What can we look forward to from Ray Edwards Jr.? I’m looking to change the game in men’s underwear, crazy motivation shirts that bring about positivity in this world and completing all dreams and goals that come to mind. • Siergio Returns with New Hit Single “On My Way”

Siergio fans have been waiting for this day to come for over a year. He spent most of 2017 wrapped in the studio recording new music and filming. The Chicago reared singer’s 2016 release, “Songs for the Jeep”, was a major success. The LP peaked at #35 on iTunes R&B and went on to sell thousands of copies worldwide. Last Thursday, the R&B singer shared the cover and release date for his highly anticipated new single “On My Way”. So what does this all mean? It means the wait is over and he is back with an atmospheric banger. “On My Way”, produced by Atlanta producer Dj Cool, is consistent with a strong calypso/island feel. The tune follows right into the dancehall footsteps while offering something new and refreshing. Smooth drums and a ravishing melody, it is with pleasure you get to hear a different sound from the vocalist.  The song opens with the crooner pleading with his on and off again “bae” to answer the phone.  After the two made plans for a romantic evening, things don’t look as promising as the singer can’t seem to reach his distant lover. Wrapped up with work and grad school, it’s apparent that she may not have time for their relationship. The singer travels through the city to find his love and forces her to find the time for the diminishing relationship. “It’s been too long since you’ve been gone and every time I reach out for ya’..it kills me that you’re not here next to me”, the singer exclaims. In many ways “On My Way” is undeniable and it’s certainly a gem. Siergio’s voice is adequately honeyed. He could sing anything and make it sound sexy and intriguing—and that is what he does here. In a “trap&b” world, it’s refreshing to hear the singer choose the lane less traveled. Peep the visual below, directed by Ace Drewman. You can also cop the single on iTunes x Google Play and stream it on Apple Music, Tidal, and Spotify. Check out the video below. #OnMyWay #Siergio
