Heir PR Hosted its 2nd Annual Awards Gala Honoring 2017 Heir’s List Influencers

Last week, Heir PR hosted their Annual 35 Heirs Gala for the 2017 Heir’s List influencers and took us all on a ‘Journey to Wakanda’ at Absurd Conclave in the heart of Bushwick.

The evening consisted of themed cocktails courtesy of Bacardi – Martini & Rossi; along with a succulent meal prepared by Jackson’s Culinary Creations, which took each guest’s taste buds to a region known only to Black Panther. The transcendence of the venue to the concept was handled by Leah T. Williams Event Planning & Design and A Glance of Royalty. The transference of cultural vibes through the night were provided by none other than Dj Ali.

‘Journey to Wakanda’ was a night to remember. Heir PR kicked it off with a cocktail hour followed by the dinner and awards led by Heir PR’s powerhouse, Sherod Lewis. “How can we stress the value of US, when you don’t even value US. Acknowledgment within our community is all we need! We must stop seeking to be validated by the colonizers. Solange mentioned creating our own spaces, celebrating and supporting one another…and I have made it my mission to do just that,” says Lewis as he gave a heartfelt speech on the importance of representation, acknowledgment, and celebration – a topic that continues to define how people of color view themselves and why it matters.

Inaugural honorees took to podium to present awards to those honored in the same categories they were honored in and shared anecdotal moments of last year’s gala and the importance of creating more spaces for us. Before the dinner commenced, Heir PR announced its 35 Heirs (top 35 under 35). The night ended with more sponsored drinks and African curated vibes, while honorees and guests danced the night away.
