Yahya Abdul-Mateen II stars in this upcoming historical-crime and thriller film, By Any Means, alongside Mark Wahlberg, this September.
Abdul-Mateen II is FBI agent Wayne Strider, who plays opposite Wahlberg, who portrays real-life mafia hitman, Gregory Scarpa.
The film, directed by Elegance Bratton, is inspired by the true story of Wahlberg’s Scarpa and Abdul-Mateen II’s FBI agent Wayne Strider, both teaming up to investigate the murders of civil rights leaders in 1960s Mississippi and fight members of the Ku Klux Klan.
The FBI makes a deal with a mafia hitman to get results. Two men divided by everything, both agree that to get answers to their questions, they will do anything by any means necessary.
Also in the cast are Nicole Beharie, Josh Lucas, LisaGay Hamilton, Ethan Embry, and Giancarlo Esposito as civil rights leader Vernon Dahmer, whose murder Scarpa also helped the FBI investigate.
