Off of his role as Riley in the revenge thriller Is God Is, artist and actor Justen “Jus10” Ross has released his new single Fruition. The drop marks his first musical release since his debut EP, turning a new chapter for a creative whose work spans both film and music.
Is God Is, written and directed by Aleshea Harris in her feature directorial debut, centers on twin sisters who set out on a quest for revenge against their father for disfiguring them as children. Ross plays Riley, one of the father’s twin sons, happily ensconced in a lavish home alongside his twin brother, portrayed by Xavier Mills, as part of the new family their father built after abandoning his daughters. The film features a formidable ensemble that includes Kara Young, Mallori Johnson, Vivica A. Fox, Sterling K. Brown, Janelle Monáe, Mykelti Williamson, and Erika Alexander.
Now, with the cameras behind him, Ross is making clear that his creative identity doesn’t stop at acting. Fruition arrives as both a personal statement and a sonic declaration, built on heartfelt storytelling and a renewed direction that reflects where he is right now.
“Fruition is a reflection on the fruits of my labor, both seen and unseen,” Ross said in a statement. “The opportunities, the lessons, the relationships, the risks, the victories, and the disappointments that taught me something along the way. It’s a reminder that every seed planted has the potential to bloom, even when you can’t see it happening.”
The record explores the quiet, often invisible nature of growth, the idea that transformation is usually happening long before results show up. It’s a fitting thesis for an artist who has spent recent years expanding his footprint across music, live performances, hosting, and community work while staying committed to art rooted in resilience and self-discovery.
“Fruition” is out now on Apple Music and Spotify.
