“I met Beyoncé last night. That takes the cake for me. That was a cool moment,” Withers shared with the publication.
Even better than simply meeting Queen Bey was exactly how the introduction happened. As it turns out, the connection was sparked by none other than Blue Ivy, who recognized Withers from his recent work and initiated the conversation.
“Blue [Ivy] introduced herself and was familiar with some of my press for a film that I did, specifically the Quenlin Blackwell video,” he explained. “And then she introduced me to her mom. I think that takes the cake any night.”
Having Blue Ivy act as your personal hype woman to introduce you to Beyoncé? That is a level of Met Gala magic that most people can only dream of.
Between the custom Louis Vuitton fit and scoring a casual introduction to Queen Bey herself, it is safe to say Tyriq Withers’ first Met Gala was an absolute triumph.
