Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas is done for the season.
Pete Carroll, Seahawks head coach, announced today that Thomas is out for the season after suffering a broken leg in last night’s Sunday night game against the Carolina Panthers.
Thomas suffered a fractured tibia when colliding with his teammate, Kam Chancellor, while attempting to intercept reigning MVP Cam Newton in the second quarter.
Consequently, Thomas was escorted off the field by his teammates before being carted off for x-rays.
However, Thomas tweeted something very surprising:
“This game has been so good to me no regrets. A lot is running through my mind including retirement thanks for all the prayers.”
Only time will tell if this is the final farewell of Thomas, who, in 2012, helped the Legion of Boom and the Seahawks to a Super Bowl win over the Denver Broncos.
