Critics will have to find a new rumor to run with. Barack and Michelle Obama have officially shut down the speculation about their marriage, addressing recent divorce rumors with clarity and humor.
The former president joined his wife and her brother Craig Robinson on a new episode of the In My Opinion (IMO) podcast, and right out of the gate, they tackled the recent wave of tabloid speculation about their marriage with grace and humor.
“Wait, you guys like each other?” Robinson teased as Barack entered the conversation. Michelle didn’t miss a beat. “Oh yeah, the rumor mill,” she replied. Barack leaned right into the bit: “She took me back. It was touch and go for a while.”
The trio’s banter set the tone for a light-hearted but meaningful conversation that opened with laughs and gently shut down the divorce rumors that have followed the Obamas for the past year.

Craig added, “It’s so nice to have you both in the same room together,” to which Michelle said, “I know, ‘cause when we aren’t, folks think we’re divorced.”
“There hasn’t been one moment in our marriage where I thought about quitting, my man,” Michelle said. “And we’ve had some really hard times. But we’ve also had a lot of fun, a lot of adventures. And I’ve become a better person because of the man I’m married to.”
“Don’t make me cry now. Right at the beginning of the show,” Barack said.
The episode, which focused primarily on raising young men, offered a glimpse into the Obamas’ enduring partnership, one built on love, mutual respect, and the ability to laugh through life’s curveballs.
In a social media age where every quiet moment between public figures sparks speculation, the Obamas reminded us that real relationships are built on more than curated posts and photo ops. So, are the Obamas getting divorced? Nope!
