Listening to him sing will make you instantly realize why he was chosen by Superstar Singer, Usher. The Quintessential Gentleman sat down with Vedo as he talks about his experience on The Voice, his new EP and being a Quintessential Gentleman.

QG: Growing up, who did you look up to in the industry? Who was an inspiration?

VEDO: My mom was definitely an inspiration. I also looked up to Usher, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder etc… just to name a few.

QG: What was the first song you ever sung?

VEDO: I honestly don’t remember but I’m sure it was a song by The Temptations.

QG: You recently released State of Mind, tell us about the EP?

VEDO: State of Mind is my 1st EP. It was a project where I just wanted to be transparent as to what I was feeling at the moment. I just wanted to do what I wanted, say what I wanted without holding back.

QG: Your voice is so powerful and loved by so many. When singing, what types of thoughts go through your head?

VEDO: I go blank when singing, the key is to feel it, not think about it. When you feel it people listening will feel it as well.

QG: Who would you sing a duet with?

VEDO: Adele or Beyoncé.

QG: How was your experience being on the Voice?

VEDO: Absolutely amazing, I learned so much, working with usher, meeting Adam, Blake and Shakira. I met so many people from different genres, different parts of the world etc.

QG: You are very close to Usher, what are 3 things you have learned from him?

VEDO: 1. Trust yourself when you ‘rein stage. Don’t think just do it. 2. Never give up. No matter what. You will get a thousand no’s but all it takes is 1 yes. 3. Hard Work beats talent.

QG: Was there ever a time where you wanted to give up and just further your education and get a 9-5. If so, how did you overcome this?

VEDO: Honestly, no there was never a time where I wanted to give up, I’ve always felt like I was way to creative for a 9-5. There’s always time to further my education. Although I have had some rough times throughout my journey I never wanted to give up!

QG: What job do you think you would be doing now if you didn’t have your music career?

VEDO: Probably would have just graduated with a degree in criminal justice. That’s what I wanted to go to school for. So some type of job in that field.

QG: What does being a Quintessential Gentleman mean to you ?

VEDO: To be the perfect Gentlemen at all times respectful and intelligent.

QG: What type of work do you do in the community?

VEDO: I try my best to be apart of anything involving kids, I do career days, free shows at schools, children’s hospitals etc.

QG: Do you have a favorite quote or motto?

VEDO: Stay down for the come up, and when you come up, stay down.

QG: Going trough your social media your female fans are off the hook. What would you be looking for in order to take a girl on a date?

VEDO: Maturity, intelligence & patience and of course Beautiful.

QG: What can we look forward to from Vedo?

VEDO: You can look forward to just more great music embodying who I am, more cover and most definitely more original music. I’ve also been writing for some major artist so be on the look out for some major collabs.
