NBA Postpones Lakers, Clippers Game for Obvious Reasons

The saddest day in sports history has affected an NBA game tonight.

Because of Kobe Bryant‘s untimely death Sunday morning, the NBA has decided to postpone a game in which the Los Angeles Lakers would have played the Clippers, the third matchup on the year.

Bryant and his daughter, Gianna were in a helicopter that went down due to fog in the air on Sunday.

Players in the NBA have been commemorating the future Hall of Famer since the tragedy, including intentionally committing 24-second shot clock violations, as well as players in the NFL paying homage to Bryant by exhibiting some of his moves in celebration after a touchdown in the

Pro Bowl on Sunday.

“In consultation with the NBA League office, the game scheduled between the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers for Tuesday (tonight), January 28 will be postponed and scheduled for a future date,” an NBA statement read. “The Los Angeles Lakers would like to thank all of you for the tremendous outpouring of support and condolences. This is a very difficult time for all of us. We continue to support the Bryant family and will share more information as it is available.”
