Is Love Really Blind? Couples Gather for a Love Themed VIP Finale Screening

If you're a Netflix junkie, then you have to know about the hit show Love is Blind. The show follows various hopefuls who aim to find love. The catch is, they don’t know who they’ll fall in love with.

The simple sound of their voices will determine if love is truly blind.

The show first aired on Netflix on February 13, 2020 and ended on February 27, 2020. I got the chance to attend a star-studded VIP Finale screening for the show at the City Winery in Atlanta, GA. Media and guests got the chance to enjoy signature cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and a chance to meet the entire cast of the show. In the end, only 2 of the hopeful couples, Lauren and Cameron & Amber and Barnett made it to “I do.” While speaking with the lovebirds, I got a chance to get to know them on a deeper level. Being that the show aired back in 2018, it was hard to keep this secret for a year and a half. We've received so much love and an outpour of support. Watching it now, it’s like we got married all over again,” Lauren states about her marriage to Cameron. About her marriage to Barnett, Amber stated, “we’re dating each other more and more, and learning so much about one another, we’re happy.”

While love was deeply in the air for the newlyweds, some didn’t say “I do.” We caught up with Giannina and Damian who left the alter not warm with love, but cold. Communication for them just wasn't there. Damian stated, “one thing about me and Giannina is we’re fighters. We don’t give up. I think it’s something to easily done when you walk away and just give up. If you want to better yourself, you stick with the person and you don’t stop trying to understand where they're coming from.” Fortunately, the two are still good friends. Who knows, maybe a love spark will reignite.

While some continued to love, and some called it quits, the show still experimented with being able to fall for someone not just for looks. Time and time again, we tend to like someone based on how they look and not how they treat us. Connections are important in relationships, and this show truly showed us how to connect on more than one level.
