If the Glove don’t fit …

If you haven’t heard of The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, I’m going to assume you don’t have a television, a cell phone, computer or read the newspaper. This FX original is everywhere and everyone is talking about it.

The TV show gives its viewers the play-by-play trial of the most controversial case of the 20th Century! If you haven’t heard of the case here you go in a nutshell! O.J. Simpson is an all-star athlete who was accused of killing his ex-wife. He was acquitted of all charges in a court of law. A lot of people think he did it but the prosecution couldn’t prove he did it. I always think of Jamie Foxx’s quote in Law Abiding Citizen “It’s not what you know. It’s what you can prove in court”. It’s interesting because I feel like you have three type of people who watch this show; (1) You were old enough to understand the case as it was publicly aired in the 90’s, (2) You were young and have heard all about the O.J. Simpson case but never knew all the details but heard all about “If the Glove don’t fit, you must acquit” (Myself), (3) Never knew anything about the 90’s case but love shows like Law and Order and Criminal Minds so this is right up your alley.

Regardless of why you are watching, you are watching! I am sitting at the screen every week trying to peace together the puzzle even though I already know what the outcome is. I have my mother on the other hand agreeing with the television and giving her two cents as she remembers it happening in the 90s. Love her though because whenever I miss something she gives me the real life answer as to what’s going to happen next in the courtroom. O.J. Simpson is currently incarnated for another crime, unrelated to the case. Now there is a knife that has mysteriously found its way to the headlines. The knife could hurt him getting parole. “The Nevada Parole Board may consider and give relevant weight to any evidence that bears on whether the release of the petitioning inmate could constitute a danger to the public,” a spokeswoman from attorney general Adam Paul Laxalt’s office said in an email to Yahoo News. Simpson is not out of the woods yet and the death of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman may still haunt him.

I have to say that watching this show makes me feel like the case is going on all over again. From the amazing casting to the real content we can search for in our 90’s memory bank, I am completed dedicated to this show. Make sure you check out The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story on FX every Tuesday at 10pm EST.

The Quintessential Gentleman.
