Hennessy V.S.O.P Celebrated John Gibson with a Special Privilège Toast at Year of The Gibson Celebra

Recently, Hennessy V.S.O.P Privilège celebrated the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) Advisor of Inclusion and Multicultural Outreach, John Gibson for his outstanding accomplishments in 2017. Within the last calendar year, John Gibson has been the recipient of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition and Citizenship Education Fund– “Top Engaged and Inspirational Leader Award,” Richard Wright School for Journalism and Media – “Inspiring the Next Generation Honoree” and Black Enterprise’s “2017 BE Modern Man of Distinction 100 Honoree.”

The ceremony, held at Smith Commons located in the historic “H” Street corridor of Washington, D.C. featured remarks from Dr. Nichol Turner-Lee (Brookings Institute), John Burns (Entertainment Legal Analyst), Charlyn Stansberry (Legislative Counsel, Rep. Yvette D. Clarke) and Lisa Mushaw (Dewey Square). To culminate the program, Hennessy’s D.C. Brand Ambassador Vann Ashe, led an unforgettable privilège toast in front of John’s family, friends, and business associates.

Notable attendees were MPAA Chairman Senator Chris Dodd; National Press Club President Jeff Ballou; executives from the American Black Film Festival based in New York; Stacy Milner, the founder of the Entertainment Industry College Outreach Program based in Los Angeles; former NFL player and Washington area businessman Leigh Bodden and a large number of Washington influencers.

Since establishing the MPAA’s Diversity and Outreach Program, John has cultivated key partnerships with leading organizations such as the American Black Film Festival and the Latino Donor Collaborative, both of whose advisory boards he serves on; the Washington Bureau of the National Urban League, serving on its Business Solutions Council; National Hispanic Media Coalition, National Association of Latino Independent Producers and several other groups working tirelessly to promote gender equality and diversity in film and television.

These tremendous work efforts and partnerships are what fueled Hennessy to recognize John with this special celebration. Rightfully, joining Hennessy were two other brands that have mastered its presence in a distinguished gentlemen’s lifestyle, Scotch Porter and GQ Magazine severed as the event gift bag sponsors.
