Giants players call out Redskins’ Josh Norman

The Giants and Redskins won’t meet on the field until next Sunday, but the trash talk has already begun.

Usually Giants’ wideout, Odell Beckham Jr. and Redskins’ cornerback, Josh Norman, go back-and-forth throwing shade at each other…this time, Beckham’s teammates spoke out.

After Wednesday’s practice, Victor Cruz and Janoris Jenkins called out Norman for not exclusively covering Steelers’ wide receiver, Antonio Brown, during Washington’s 38-16 loss on Monday night.

“Going in I thought he was going to follow A.B. all over the place but he didn’t so it is what it is. He made his choice,” Cruz told the New York Post on Wednesday. “Especially if he calls himself — I don’t call him this, he calls himself — the best corner in the league, then you have to cover the best receivers on the other team.”

Jenkins added his thoughts. “I think when you’re paying somebody $70 mil, there shouldn’t be no game plan,” Jenkins said. “The game plan should be: You’re on this guy. That’s what it is.”

There’s no question that NFL fans are looking forward to the Beckham vs. Norman matchup in week three. Norman and the Redskins travel to MetLife Stadium to take on the Giants on Sept. 25. Kickoff is at 1 p.m.
