Ben Simmons is the Real Deal

Ben Simmons said his goal is to be the best player on the 94-foot hardwood on the Sunday Conversation this morning.

Simmons, who will the no.1 pick by the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday, is this draft’s best player.

Early reports said Simmons didn’t want to be drafted by the City of Brotherly Love, but, by all accounts, that narrative was pervasive and put to rest by ESPN’s Chris Broussard.

If one has investigated the social media landscape, many people seemed to be split on Simmons. Some say he isn’t clutch and can’t shoot. Others say he’s a surefire superstar in this game after averaging 19.2 points, 4.8 assists, 11.8 rebounds and shooting 56 percent from the field.

While he said he wants to be the best, for now, he actually has taken the steps to prove that, training so rigorously over the summer time that he has gained 20 lbs. in muscle.

Take a look at this year’s best college basketball talent—a player who can handle the ball with both hands, can post up, see the floor and defend—and get ready for this Thursday’s draft. He is the definition of fundamentally sound.
