Jay-Z will headline the Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show on February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation made the announcement on Monday night.
The NFL teased the news on social media with a nod to the rapper’s nickname: “GOAT’s out of the bag.”
“From ‘Reasonable Doubt’ to standing on the Super Bowl halftime stage, this has been a journey,” Jay-Z said in a statement. “Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world’s biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true.”

From Behind the Scenes to Center Stage
The booking closes a loop that started in 2019, when Roc Nation partnered with the NFL to advise on and help produce the league’s entertainment presentations, including the halftime show. At the time, Jay-Z said he had told NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, “If this is about me performing at the Super Bowl, then we can just end this conversation now.”
Goodell’s only request, according to ESPN, was that Jay-Z perform himself “whenever the moment felt right to him.” Roc Nation will executive produce the show.
The timing is hard to miss. 2026 marks the 30th anniversary of Reasonable Doubt and the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint. Jay-Z marked the milestone with a run that included the Roots Picnic in May, three sold-out Yankee Stadium shows in July, dates in Paris and London, and two nights at SoFi Stadium, the same venue that will host Super Bowl LXI.
Beyoncé and Rihanna were among the guests during the Yankee Stadium run.
A High Bar
Jay-Z inherits a halftime stage that has broken records in recent years. Kendrick Lamar’s 2025 show drew 133.5 million viewers, the most-watched in halftime history, and Bad Bunny’s performance last February averaged 128.2 million viewers and won a record seven Emmys.
The game will air on ESPN and ABC and stream on Disney+.
