Amazon MGM Studios is gearing up for a massive run at the box office, officially unveiling a stacked slate of upcoming theatrical releases at CinemaCon. From highly anticipated sequels to brand-new original projects, the studio is making it clear that the big-screen experience is a major priority.
One of the most exciting films leading this impressive lineup is Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother, featuring an incredible all-star cast led by two-time Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali.
Set to be released under the Orion Pictures banner, the film is directed by Bassam Tariq (Mogul Mowgli). The film’s title is a nod to a well-known Islamic teaching that emphasizes the importance and elevated status of mothers. Joining Ali in this gripping, character-driven story is an absolute powerhouse supporting cast featuring Giancarlo Esposito, John Cho, and Tramell Tillman.
While official details of the plot are currently being kept strictly under wraps, attendees at CinemaCon were recently treated to an exclusive first look at the trailer. According to a report by The Wrap, the footage is both “intense and moving.”
Based on the Cinemacon preview, Ali plays a man navigating life as a single father, expressing the heavy burden of trying to fill his late wife’s shoes. He is shown hustling to make ends meet by selling perfume out of his car, but he is also harboring a dark secret: he works as a blade-wielding hitman.
The trailer hints at deep emotional and high-stakes conflicts, particularly with John Cho’s character, who warns Ali about how quickly his kids will be taken away once the police discover his deadly profession.
