Amazon MGM Studios has officially dropped the release date for The Pickup, an action-packed comedy starring Eddie Murphy alongside Pete Davidson and Keke Palmer. The film is set to premiere globally on Prime Video on August 6.

Directed by Tim Story, The Pickup flips the classic heist formula on its head. Two armored truck drivers, Russell (Murphy) and Travis (Davidson), are just trying to complete what should be a simple, uneventful cash run. But their day takes a sharp left turn when their truck is hijacked by a crew of criminals.

Leading the charge on the other side of the law? None other than Palmer as Zoe, a criminal mastermind whose plan isn’t just about stealing cash, it’s about outsmarting everyone in the room.

As the heist spirals into mayhem, The Pickup turns into a buddy comedy-meets-action flick, with Murphy and Davidson navigating explosive danger, ego clashes, and a truly wild day at work. It’s the kind of fast-paced fun that puts two total opposites in the same cab and lets the sparks fly.

The film is penned by writing duo Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider and stacked with a supporting cast including Eva Longoria, former NFL star Marshawn Lynch, WWE’s Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i, Andrew Dice Clay, and Ismael Cruz Córdova.
