Tom Cruise is always on the move, jumping out of planes, hanging off speeding trains, and casually shutting down the summer box office like it’s just another Tuesday.

But at the New York City premiere of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, Cruise took some time to show love to someone else making major moves in Hollywood: Michael B. Jordan.

While chatting with Entertainment Tonight, Cruise was asked about the whole “last movie star” title people keep giving him, you know, the idea that he’s the last of a dying breed. Cruise didn’t hesitate to push back on that idea.

“I don’t want to be [the last movie star],” he said. “There’s so many other talented actors out there and I want to see them crush it.”

And when it comes to actors he’s excited about, Jordan is at the top of his list.

“He’s enormously talented. Very charismatic. A great actor,” Cruise told Extra. “I’d love to make a movie with him [Jordan].”

If you’ve been living under a rock, Sinners, directed by Jordan’s longtime collaborator Ryan Coogler, is an R-rated vampire flick that’s been tearing up the box office, pulling in over $240 million domestically. Cruise was spotted catching a screening back in April, and Jordan later popped up at the London premiere of Mission: Impossible.

Cruise isn’t just impressed with the numbers, though. In a chat with People, he showed real respect for Jordan’s hustle.

“He’s dedicated to his brand. I really respect him. I love that film. I love the films that [he and Coogler] make. It’s brilliant, big cinema.”

And as someone who’s been in the game for decades, Cruise knows what it takes to stay on top, and he’s rooting for the new generation to win just as big.

So now we’re all left wondering: what does a Tom Cruise x Michael B. Jordan movie even look like? A high-octane action flick? A deep character drama? Some wild sci-fi situation where they both run (because let’s be honest, they’re both great runners)?

Whatever it ends up being, we’re in. All the way in.
