Philadelphia Eagles star Saquon Barkley returned home this past weekend and was honored with the key to the city of Allentown.

In front of thousands of fans at PPL Center, Barkley—who recently helped lead the Eagles to a Super Bowl victory—was recognized for his achievements both on and off the field.

Barkley, accompanied by his parents, took time to engage with young fans, signing autographs, taking photos, and sharing words of encouragement with the next generation of athletes.

During the ceremony, Allentown Mayor Matt Tuerk formally presented Barkley with the key to the city. In addition, Whitehall Township Mayor Joseph Marx issued a proclamation recognizing Barkley’s impact on his hometown.

Mayor Tuerk also declared March 9, 2025, as “Saquon Barkley Day.”

Beyond his record-breaking performances on the football field, Barkley has long been dedicated to helping underserved youth. A portion of the event’s ticket sales—50% of proceeds—was directed to his charitable organization, the Michael Ann & Saquon Barkley Hope Foundation.

Named after Barkley and his grandmother, the foundation provides financial support, resources, and mentorship to youth, helping them excel in both education and athletics.
