Cory Hardrict is stepping into a gritty new role in the upcoming crime thriller Die Like a Man, where he portrays a charismatic but ruthless Los Angeles gangster who takes a young recruit under his wing. Written and directed by Eric Nazarian, the film is set to hit digital platforms on April 25th, with an exclusive limited Los Angeles theatrical run from April 18-24 at the Secret Movie Club.
The film, distributed by Gravitas Ventures, has been described as “gripping and powerful.”
Die Like a Man follows Freddy (played by Miguel Angel Garcia), a 17-year-old from West L.A. who finds himself at a crossroads. Given a gun and tasked with proving his worth, Freddy faces the ultimate test—choosing between the dangerous allure of the streets and the life he truly wants for himself.
At the center of Freddy’s world is Solo (played by Hardrict), a feared and respected gang leader, who embodies the toxic machismo that has shaped generations. As Freddy grapples with his loyalty to Solo, his journey collides with Luna (played by Mariel Molino), a love interest who has her own struggles and dreams.
The film, inspired by Nazarian’s experience growing up as an Armenian immigrant in a working-class L.A. neighborhood.
Hardrict, who also serves as a producer on the film, collaborated with industry heavyweights like Tommy Oliver, Javier Chapa, Sean Burke, and Rodrigo Garcia to bring the film to the big screen.
Die Like a Man not only tells an important story but also takes a strong stance against gun violence. The film has partnered with Everytown for Gun Safety, Pico Youth and Family Center (PYFC), and Homeboy Industries—organizations committed to breaking cycles of violence and supporting at-risk youth.
