‘What Are You Doing for Others?’ MLK’s Legacy Calls for Support for Families Displaced by LA Fires

As LA rebuilds post-wildfires, honor MLK’s legacy by supporting relief efforts aiding families through donations, volunteering, or awareness.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr

As we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., his timeless question—”What are you doing for others?”—takes on an urgent meaning in Los Angeles, where families are grappling with the devastating aftermath of wildfires that have left many homeless. Several organizations like WalkGood LA are stepping up to provide relief and hope to those in need.

Dr. King’s legacy reminds us of the power of collective action and the importance of uplifting those in need. As Los Angeles rebuilds, these organizations—and the individuals supporting them—are living examples of his vision for a more compassionate and just society. On his birthday, let us reflect on his words and find ways to contribute, whether through donations, volunteer work, or simply spreading awareness.
