Peacock is diving into the lives of hip-hop royalty Nelly and Ashanti with a new docuseries chronicling their relationship, family life, and careers.
According to Deadline, the series, currently in production, comes from Critical Content, the studio behind Sly on Netflix and MTV’s Catfish.
The docuseries will offer an intimate look at the couple’s journey, including their rekindled romance, parenthood, and their life in the spotlight.
Nelly, born Cornell Haynes II, and Ashanti made headlines after reuniting in 2023, nearly a decade after their initial relationship ended in 2013. In December 2023, the couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in Missouri, and in July 2024, they welcomed their first child together.
Both Nelly and Ashanti are not new to the spotlight. Nelly is known for chart-topping hits like Hot in Herre and Ride Wit Me, as well as his BET reality series Nellyville and his roles in The Longest Yard, Real Husbands of Hollywood, and Dancing with the Stars. Ashanti, a Grammy-winning artist, is celebrated for timeless tracks like Foolish and Rock Wit U (Awww Baby), as well as her acting credits in Army Wives and Love & Listings.
The series is expected to capture their lives as both music icons and new parents, giving fans a rare glimpse into the dynamic behind their high-profile relationship and careers.
The series is being executive produced by Nelly and Ashanti themselves, alongside Jenny Daly and Oji Singletary of Critical Content Studios. The couple has reportedly been filming over the past few months, documenting everything from their family milestones to their professional endeavors.
Stay tuned for more details about its premiere date on Peacock.
