Filmmaker Barry Jenkins has tied the knot with fellow filmmaker Lulu Wang.
The couple, who have been together since 2018, were married on December 7. While details of the ceremony remain private, photos of the two were posted on social media over the weekend.
Jenkins is best known for directing Moonlight, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture, and If Beale Street Could Talk, an adaptation of James Baldwin’s novel. He recently directed the upcoming film Mufasa: The Lion King, set to be released on December 20.
Lulu Wang gained acclaim with her 2019 film The Farewell, a semi-autobiographical story about family and cultural identity. The film received widespread recognition, including a Golden Globe for Awkwafina’s performance. Wang is currently working on Children of the New World, a science fiction adaptation, continuing her tradition of tackling complex themes through deeply personal narratives.
Congratulations to them both!
