This time, he will fight Internet star Jake Paul – the brother of Internet start Logan Paul – on July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The fight will also air on Netflix.

What’s ironic is Paul rose to prominence in an undercard fight against former NBA player Nate Robinson before Tyson’s exhibition boxing match against former sensational fighter Roy Jones Jr. back in 2020.

Now, they will square off against each other, according to ESPN.

The event will be Netflix’s first combat sport live-action event and third live sporting event overall. According to MVP cofounder Kakisa Bidarian, Paul’s company inked a deal with Netflix for a boxing card last November 1.

“Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson is a once-in-a-lifetime dream matchup and I anticipate it will be the most-watched boxing event in modern boxing history,” Bidarian said in a statement.

Right now, it is unclear what the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, an entity that sanctions and regulates combat sports in the state, will do when it comes to the approach on how this fight will be categorized, as the fight will be either a pro fight or an exhibition.

Tyson is the most ferocious and decorated boxer of our lifetime thanks to a pro record of 50-6, according to economictimes.com, winning the heavyweight championship in 1987. But he will be 58 at the time of the fight in July, while Paul will be just 27.

Still, Tyson was in good shape when he fought Jones, which ended up being a draw on Nov. 28, 2020. And Tyson looks good on social media as well.

Still, the fiercest puncher of all time hasn’t had a professional fight since 2005.

“(Paul has) grown significantly as a boxer over the years, so it will be a lot of fun to see what the will and ambition of a ‘kid’ can do with the experience and aptitude of a GOAT,” Tyson said in a statement. “It’s a full-circle moment that will be beyond thrilling to watch, as I started him on his boxing journey on the undercard of my fight with Roy Jones, and now I plan to finish him.”

Paul, though, is 9-1 with six KOs, beating the likes of UFC stars Nate Diaz, Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley since transitioning from being a YouTube star a few years back.
