LeBron James' New Beats By Dre Ad Showcases Family, Elevates Soccer Player

Starring in an ad campaign with LeBron James is pretty symbiotic with rising to prominence in rapid fashion.

But proof is always in the pudding as Manchester City striker Erling Halland stars alongside James as an ambassador for Beats by Dre headphones in a promo campaign The King and The Viking, which the pair connect with their families the day before a big game, according to ESPN.

Folks who have already seen the commercial can see Halland receiving a heartfelt message from his father as well as agent, former footballer Alfie. Meanwhile, the greatest basketball player of all time receives a rematch pep talk from his wife, Savannah.

Seemingly thinking of something else, James walks around his hotel room before Savannah calls and delivers that much-needed motivation, essentially instructing the Los Angeles Lakers star, the all-time points scorer, to think past his critics and deliver on the court again. Then the couple’s three children Bronny, Bryce and Zhuri join in for a brief cameo.

Similarly, Alfie urges Erling to score goals, hat tricks and to put his “boyhood club Bryne FK” on the map. This is all while the ad showcases archived footage, showing how Haaland developed his keen eye for goals at such an early age.

Then, Halland is seen scoring the ball into the back of the net while playing for Bryne’s youth team way before his senior debut for the club in the Norwegian second tier at the young age of 15.

But, of course, it didn’t stop there for Halland, as his 52nd club goal for City just last year helped the team to a Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League treble.

While finding himself among the best players in the world is a feat in itself, sharing top billing with LeBron James at just 23 further proves that he is well on his way.

James has made his basketball mark since 2003, but in 2011 he purchased a 2% ownership stake in Liverpool FC, which is worth $5.288 billion, according to Forbes. But just two years ago, the four-time MVP “converted his ownership stake in Liverpool to a close to 1% stake of the Fenway Sports Group," which owns the Boston Red Sox, Pittsburgh Penguins and a few other professional teams.
