Quarterback Bryce Young Had $3.5M in NIL Business Deals Before Becoming No. 1 Draft Pick

Bryce Young was a decorated high school quarterback heading into Alabama in 2020. His play on the field beforehand and during led to the Heisman Trophy winner reaching a fortune in NIL valuation before continuing that trend as a pro.


He would go on to be drafted as the No. 1 pick by the Carolina Panthers a few weeks ago. This led to the young player signing with the Jordan Brand, according to Sports Illustrated. By joining the Jordan Brand, he joins NFL athletes Jamal Adams, Chase Claypool, Stefon Diggs, Melvin Ingram, Cam Jordan, Tyrann Mathieu, Kyle Pitts, Bobby Wagner, and Devin White, among others, according to Sports Illustrated.


And just like his NFL business ventures being of high value, his time in college was also the same situation.


Young’s NIL deals were with the likes of Nissan, Beats by Dre, Dr. Pepper, Fanatics, Celsius Drink, according to On3.com. In totality, his deals reached a whopping $3.5 million, according to On3.com. He also had deals with the following: NOBULL, Dollar Shave Club, Topps and New Life Art, according to On3.com.


His new company, the Jordan Brand, is said to make over $5 billion a year in annual revenue, according to AfroTech. Signing a player like Young can potentially bring in more money.


At the same time that the gunslinger signed with Michael Jordan’s company, he also partnered with BodyArmor and SNICKERS Ice Cream.


“I will always be a Lakers fan and definitely a huge Kobe fan, Young told Sportico.“ To have that connection with BodyArmor which he was so involved in means the world to me.”


Young was also part of creating the “SNICKERS Bryce Cream Bar,” to the delight of SNICKERS.


“It’s a dream come true to see a SNICKERS Ice Cream bar with my name on it,” Young said., according to a press release. “I am beyond excited to be part of the 2023 NFL Draft alongside SNICKERS Ice Cream and can’t wait to share our SNICKERS Bryce Cream Bars with fans.”


Young, who is widely considered the most ready-made NFL quarterback, took the Alabama Crimson Tide to the National Championship in 2022, while also winning the Maxwell, Davey O’Brien, Manning, the AP College Football Player of the Year (2021) and the SEC Offensive Player of the Year (2021) awards.
