Comedian Josh Johnson Explores Black Mental Health in New Peacock Comedy Special

Many may know Josh Johnson as an Emmy-nominated writer on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah and a former performer on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon but he is continuing to step into his own.

Peacock has announced the release of Johnson's upcoming stand-up special. Josh Johnson: Up Here Killing Myself is the comedian's first special for the streaming network and will show no subject too big, small, or intimate for him to talk about. The Louisiana native transforms an hour of talk therapy about his relationships with money, his father, and a stalker, into an hour of stand-up in the new special.

But if you think Johnson is new to this, you have another thing coming. Johnson has been pouring his heart out on stage for years and is Comedy Central’s "most watched comedian ever" with 40M+ views across their platforms.

Directed by Jacob Menache, Josh Johnson: Up Here Killing Myself comedically explores Black mental health and provides audiences with an insight look into Johnson's thoughts on growing up without money, grieving and first-time experiences.

Josh Johnson: Up Here Killing Myself will begin streaming on February 17 on Peacock. Check out the trailer below.
