Former President Barack Obama and Bruce Springsteen have released an exclusive podcast series on Spotify, that covers wide-ranging conversations.
An eight-episode podcast, "Renegades: Born in the USA," features the friends engaging "in deep and revealing conversation," discuss topics spanning race, fatherhood, marriage, and the state of America.
“On the surface, Bruce and I don’t have a lot in common,” said Barack Obama in the intro to the first episode. “But over the years, what we’ve found is that we’ve got a shared sensibility — about work, about family and about America.”
According to Higher Ground, Obama and Springsteen have been friends since 2008 when they met on the campaign trail.
He continues, “In our own ways, Bruce and I have been on parallel journeys trying to understand this country that’s given us both so much. Trying to chronicle the stories of its people. Looking for a way to connect our own individual searches for meaning and truth and community with the larger story of America.”
The series is the second original podcast for Spotify under the Obama's Higher Ground exclusive deal. The “The Michelle Obama Podcast” was the first.
The first two episodes of "Renegades," are currently available exclusively on Spotify.
