Ron and Dwayne are back, this time on the mic. Darryl M. Bell and Kadeem Hardison, the duo behind Ron Johnson and Dwayne Wayne on the seminal NBC sitcom A Different World, have officially partnered with iHeartMedia and Charlamagne Tha God’s Black Effect Podcast Network to launch A Different World View with Darryl & Kadeem.

The weekly rewatch podcast premieres Thursday, October 15, and it’s been a long time coming.

The launch arrives at a moment of real cultural momentum for the franchise. Netflix’s sequel series, in which both actors reprise their beloved roles, has been met with critical success and a rapid Season 2 renewal. The podcast is designed to deepen that reconnection, giving fans who grew up watching Ron and Dwayne navigate Hillman College an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at the show’s enduring legacy, alongside the duo’s signature banter on pop culture, sports, and current events.

“I am beyond excited to finally launch the A Different World View with Darryl and Kadeem podcast,” Bell said. “Kadeem and I have only wanted to do this for over 25 years, and the time is now.” Hardison matched the energy. “I’ve been talking to this guy for 40 years,” he said. “I’m so glad you all get to see what I’ve been dealing with.”

The premiere episode features TV icon and executive producer Debbie Allen, who helped transform A Different World into a cultural institution during its original run and serves as director and executive producer on the new Netflix sequel. Listeners can expect deep dives into the show’s evolution, untold set stories, and guest appearances from both original cast members and stars of the new generation.

Dollie S. Bishop, President of the Black Effect Podcast Network, put the significance of the partnership plainly. “A Different World had an undeniable impact on Black culture, and Kadeem and Darryl are such an important part of that legacy,” she said. “We’re excited to give them a platform to bring their friendship and comedy to listeners everywhere.”

New episodes drop every Thursday starting October 15 on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and all major audio platforms, with full video episodes available on YouTube.
