Paramount+ has released the first look images of Frisco King, the long-anticipated Tulsa King spinoff starring Samuel L. Jackson, giving fans their first real glimpse at the next chapter of the franchise’s modern mob universe.

A premiere date hasn’t been announced yet, but the eight-episode first season is officially on its way.

Frisco King picks up the story of Russell Lee Washington Jr., known as Lee, a hitman for New York mobsters who declines an assignment to kill Dwight Manfredi, Sylvester Stallone‘s character on Tulsa King, and instead sets out to build a new life and enterprise in Frisco, Texas.

Jackson is reprising the role he originated as a special guest star on Tulsa King Season 3, where Lee was introduced across the episodes Dead Weight and Jesus Lizard. The character’s connection to Dwight runs deep: the two met in federal prison, where Dwight saved Lee’s life roughly 20 years before the events of Tulsa King. Dwight knows Lee as a man of honor and, in his own words from “Dead Weight,” a hitman of distinction, “the best there ever was.”

The series was previously known as NOLA King, a nod to Lee’s roots in New Orleans, before undergoing the title and location change to Frisco King that The Quintessential Gentleman covered back in February. That shift also brought a change behind the camera, with Tulsa King creator Taylor Sheridan stepping in to write all eight episodes of the debut season himself.

Sheridan, Stallone, and Jackson all serve as executive producers on the project, alongside David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Christina Alexandra Voros, Michael Friedman, and Keith Cox.

Production on Frisco King got underway in March 2026 in Fort Worth, Texas, the same sprawling Lone Star backdrop that gave the series its new name and setting.

With first-look images now out in the world, the wait for an official premiere date is likely the last hurdle left before Jackson’s Lee officially takes center stage.
