‘The Ms. Pat Show’ Officially Renewed for Season 6 at Paramount+ as Creator Jordan E. Cooper Celebrates the Ultimate Victory
The Ms. Pat Show is officially returning to our screens for a sixth season, and this time, it is bringing its signature unapologetic comedy to a brand-new home on Paramount+.
Following the major renewal announcement, series co-creator, director, and executive producer Jordan E. Cooper took to Instagram to celebrate the massive milestone and to take a well-deserved victory lap. For Cooper, the season six renewal is about much more than just keeping the cameras rolling; it is a direct response to the industry gatekeepers who doubted the project from the very beginning.
In the video, Cooper laid out the harsh criticisms he and the show faced early on.
“The TV show that I was told would never work just got renewed for season six,” Cooper stated. “The TV show that I was told I was too young to create, direct, and produce just got renewed for season six. The TV show that people said was too raw and too black for television just got renewed for season six.”
Now heading to Paramount+, the sitcom is gearing up to reach its biggest crowd yet. However, Cooper was quick to assure long-time fans that the platform shift won’t change the brilliant authenticity that made the show a breakout hit in the first place.
“That means a wider audience and we still gonna be the same level of raw,” he promised. “The same level of raw, don’t ever get it twisted.”
Cooper wrapped up the video with a piece of advice for other creatives navigating the notoriously difficult entertainment industry. “Don’t let nobody take what you can’t do. Ever. Ever,” he emphasized. “Don’t ever give up.”
With its move to Paramount+ and a fresh season officially secured, The Ms. Pat Show continues to prove that there is a massive, hungry audience for authentic, raw, and unapologetically Black storytelling.
