The Banks family’s story is coming to a close. Peacock’s Bel-Air, the dramatic reimagining of the iconic ’90s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, has officially wrapped filming on its fourth and final season.
Since debuting in 2022, Bel-Air has reintroduced audiences to Will, Carlton, Uncle Phil, Aunt Viv, and the rest of the Banks family through a modern lens, diving deeper into the personal struggles, triumphs, and complicated relationships that shaped their lives.
Now, after a season 3 finale full of cliffhangers, the cast is saying goodbye.
Cast Reflects on the Journey
Olly Sholotan, who has portrayed Carlton Banks, shared an emotional tribute on Instagram, posting a carousel of Polaroids and behind-the-scenes memories.
“Yesterday, I shot my final scene as Carlton Banks and with that, wrapped on the fourth and final season of Bel-Air,” Sholotan wrote.
“There aren’t enough words in the English language to encapsulate everything I feel, so I can only leave with: thank you… We hope we’ve made you proud and taken care of these iconic characters for you. Y’all have flip turned my life upside up (down… you get what I mean).”
Jabari Banks, the breakout star bringing Will Smith to life for a new generation, seemingly reflected on the past four years in a post that hinted at the personal growth the role has brought him.
“The last 4 years have been a rollercoaster to say the least, but I wouldn’t have it any other way… As I leap into this vast well of vulnerability, hopefully I’ll encourage the next to do the same,” he wrote.
Coco Jones, who plays Hilary Banks, also took to Instagram to reflect on what the role has meant to her personally and professionally.
“An ending and a new beginning. Hilary, I loved playing you girl (and wearing all those fire ass ‘fits). I will truly miss this cast, crew, and the chemistry we had on screen. Such a blessing to be a part of this show for 4 YEARS wattt??,”
Jones wrote, sharing snapshots of herself holding a slate on set along with behind-the-scenes peeks from the upcoming season.
Adrian Holmes, who plays family patriarch Philip Banks, documented his final day on set in his Instagram stories. Cassandra Freeman, who plays Vivian Banks, celebrated the wrap with gratitude for the show’s impact: “I thank God that all we tried to do was to give a platform to the sacredness of family.”
A Reimagining That Left Its Mark
Bel-Air was born from a four-minute fan-made short film created by Morgan Cooper in 2019. The concept, a dramatic take on Fresh Prince, caught Will Smith’s attention, eventually leading to Peacock’s greenlight. Since then, the series has carved out its own cultural footprint while honoring the legacy of its predecessor.
Peacock confirmed the show’s fourth season renewal in December 2024, with the bittersweet news that it would also be the last. No release date has been announced yet, but with filming wrapped, fans can expect the final season to drop sooner rather than later.
