The Renaissance Man: “Saint’s & Sinners” Keith Robinson
From releasing his first album in 2009 to being the star of Bounce TV’s Saints & Sinners, Keith Robinson is an all-around entertainer. Learn more about this Renaissance Man in our recent interview.
Tell us about Keith Robinson, who you are, and one thing people don’t know about you.
I am a very driven person, a bit introverted when I’m not working. I love to travel and a sports fanatic. . . .
Many don’t know you sing as well, you’ve released a few albums and also recently your first mixtape, when did you know you had a love for music?
My love for music began at a very young age. I grew up in a household where there was always music around.
When did you start adding songwriting to the mix?
I added songwriting to the mix early on in high school. I was always interested in creative writing at a young age and it grew into songwriting.
If you had to choose, music or acting, which would it be?
I hope I never have to choose one over the other but if I did it would probably be where I started which was music.
Who are some of your influences?
I’m pretty much influenced by the world around me. I have always gravitated to artists like Stevie winder, Donny Hathaway, Sting, etc. Favorite actors, it would have to be Denzel Washington, Robert Deniro, and Meryl Streep.
What’s your favorite part about doing music and creating, versus acting and in front of the camera?
I think my favorite part is creating the record in the studio and hearing it back for the first time. As for acting, I really love the moments created in actually doing the scenes.
How do you believe your style of music is different?
I think it’s different because it approaches practical life and love issues that we all go through in a very creative and conceptual way.
Talk about Saints & Sinners. We are right in the middle of Season 3, what more can we expect from the show and from Miles Calloway this season?
Saints & Sinners season 3 is the wildest ride yet. Miles is still trying to find his way in a love triangle but gets into even more drama because a child is involved or two…it’s crazy.
You call yourself a Renaissance Man. What does a Quintessential Gentleman mean to you?
I call myself that because I am truly a man who is about and has an enormous love for the arts whether I’m creating it, observing it, or listening to it. I think a Quintessential Gentleman is a man of style, art, originality, and progressive thinking.
Can we expect a tour?
Yes, you can expect a tour. We’re putting that together as we speak. I perform pretty regularly around the country.
What else is next for you?
Next for me is my short film The Greener Grass Experiment, my new mixtape Trapsodic Love, a new movie Gangland (2019), and touring for the current album Love Episodic.
