The Quintessential Gentleman Featured In Upcoming Season Of Bounce TV's 'Johnson'

Bounce TV Johnson

Johnson Season 3 premieres Saturday, August 5, and on episode 2 of the hit Bounce TV show, the audience will see a familiar brand as The Quintessential Gentleman will be a part of this season's story arc. The popular dramedy returns with back-to-back episodes, which focus on four lifelong best friends, all of whom share life along with the same last name. Created by actor, producer, and writer Deji LaRay, Johnson tells the story of love, self-discovery and brotherhood, touching on hot-button topics including fatherhood, classism and the ever-evolving relationship dynamics between men and women. These themes will continue to be prominent in the new season ahead. The ensemble cast is led by LaRay (Bosch, Greenleaf), Thomas Q. Jones (P. Valley, Luke Cage), Philip Smithey (Murderville, The Rookie) and Derrex Brady (NCIS, First) with D.L. Hughley, Terri J. Vaughn and Earthquake.

Guest stars in the upcoming season include Cedric The Entertainer, who also executive produces the hit show, former NBA superstar Stephen Jackson, Living Single alum TC Carson and more. Season 1 of Johnson was seen by 5.7 million viewers, helping Bounce TV become a household name among Black viewers as well as become the leading broadcast and multi-platform entertainment network for our community. On episode 2 of the upcoming season, the men of Johnson attend the "Who's Who" mixer hosted by The Quintessential Gentleman. During the event, viewers will see past covers from the publication, which include rap icon Jermaine Dupri, actor Da’Vinchi, and radio legend Charlamagne Tha God. “We have been supportive of Johnson since Season 1. The series shows that Black men are not a monolith and depicts the many triumphs and struggles Black men encounter on a daily basis, which is often left out of television programming," The Quintessential Gentleman's founder, Eric K. Thomas, says about aligning with the show. “The synergy between The Quintessential Gentleman and Johnson just makes sense.” With the writers and actors strike preventing talent from promoting their shows and hard work, it is still important for us to support shows that are made by us for us. As we are entertained, we will still send a message that shows like Johnson are needed. Make sure to tune in Saturday, August 5. Viewers can catch up on Johnson and all Bounce originals anytime on Brown Sugar, Bounce's subscription video-on-demand service.
