The Gent Who Spent: Michael Jordan Donates $7 Million to Charlotte for Medical Clinics

Michael Jordan, the owner of the Hornets, is donating $ 7 million to underserved communities in Charlotte, North Carolina for the construction of medical clinics.

The donation will fund two Novant Health Michael Jordan Family clinics in areas of the city that need a lot of help.

“I am proud to partner with Novant Health to bring critical health services to underserved areas of Charlotte and the thousands of North Carolinians with limited access to health care,” said Jordan. “Through my years of working with Novant Health, I have been impressed with their approach and their commitment to the community. It is my hope that these clinics will help provide a brighter and healthier future for the children and families they serve.” – NBA Hornets

Michael Jordan is not new to philanthropy but it is being said that this is his biggest donation to date. The “G.O.A.T.” is a North Carolina native and has been increasingly speaking out on social and political issues including the rights of professional athletes who are choosing to kneel during the national anthem.

The clinics are expected to open by the end of 2020. We love to see this type of work being done!
