Philipp Plein Opens Pop Up Shop in SoHo

As most of you know New York Fashion Week is still in full effect. Here at the Quintessential Gentleman, we’ve been to more runway shows and fashion presentations than we can count. The Philipp Plein show was one of the shows we didn’t get the chance to see. The runway show took place at the Brooklyn Navy Yard Saturday. The presentation included a spaceship, robots and makeshift snow. Philipp Plein appeals to a large demographic including urban and streetwear culture. It should come as no surprise that Migos performed at his presentation and guests included Jerrika Karlae, Christian Combs, Young Thug, and Rich the Kid.

The runway show was not the end of Phillip Plein’s presence during NYFW. The international designer launched his first ever pop up store titled “No Mercy on Mercer St” the day after his show. According to a press release, “the SoHo store concept was inspired by the urban, street-style atmosphere of NYC that characterizes the area, combined with an underground and edgy experience.” The release also notes that “In contrast to existing Philipp Plein boutiques, the Mercer Street ‘pop-up’ will exclusively offer limited edition styles from Mr. Plein’s existing brand collaborations, capsule collections like ‘NO MERCY ON MERCER STREET’ available only in this store as well as a select number of “See Now, Buy Now” looks from his latest Fall/Winter 2018 collection.”
