Grungy Gentleman Conquers NYFWM

New York Fashion Week was full of great shows but there is one that epitomized cool. As apparent through his designs, Jace Lipstein, designer and founder of Grungy Gentleman, is continuously committed to an ethos, which is that fashion is more than an attribute; it’s a lifestyle choice. The designs in his showing during NYFWM clearly shows a cultural juxtaposition between grungy and gentlemen.

Grungy Gentleman, debuted his Fall/Winter 2017 collection during his NYFW: Men’s runway show at White Street NYC on Thursday, Feb 2nd. Along with the Fall/Winter 2017 collection, Lipstein also showcased the Grungy Gentleman x Knicks, Grungy Gentleman x Rangers, and Indiana University collections. The looks included Grungy Gentleman x Timberland & Grungy Gentleman x ISlides footwear, Grungy Gentleman x Mitchell & Ness hats, and Maui Jim sunglasses. DJ Drewski of Hot 97 spun a playlist of mixed genres while guests sipped on Hennessy cocktails such as the “The Gentleman” with Hennessy VS and Ginger Beer and “The Trendsetter” with Hennessy VS Cranberry and pineapple juice, before the show kicked off. Meanwhile, backstage, the models prepared for the catwalk as their hair and makeup was done by New York Institute of Beauty. It was a show of New York Pride, as New York Knicks forward, Mindaugas Kuzminskas opened the show, and New York Knicks shooting guard, Justin Holiday closed the show, in what was Grungy Gentleman’s 6th menswear runway show. Notable guests including 3x Olympic Medalist, Danell Leyva, actor Tommy Dorfman, actor Jack Griffo, and rapper, Denzil Porter sat front row to experience the collections up close. After the show, attendees headed to TAO Downtown for the after-party to celebrate another successful Grungy Gentleman runway show.
