Browns Trade Barkevious Mingo

The New England Patriots have acquired linebacker Barkevious Mingo.

In a trade today, the Patriots traded a 2017 fifth-round pick to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for Mingo, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Mingo, who was a sixth overall pick in the 2013 draft, recorded just seven  sacks in three seasons.

The Patriots have now acquired the No. 6 and the No. 7 picks from the 2013 draft. A few weeks ago, the Patriots traded Chandler Jones for lineman Jonathan Cooper from the Arizona Cardinals.

After Cleveland’s training camp, the Brown’s Vice President Sashi Brown said Mingo showed up on special teams, but wishes he would show up more on defense.

The Patriots, as always, will do their best to revitalize another player’s career; this time it will be Mingo.
