Prime Video's The Greatest, the first authorized Muhammad Ali scripted series, gets its first look at MVAAFF ahead of its November 4 premiere.
The Greatest 2

Prime Video is taking on the responsibility of telling Muhammad Ali‘s story and unveiled a first look during the Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival. Amazon MGM Studios and Prime Video brought an exclusive preview of The Greatest to MVAAFF 2026, giving the festival’s audience the first real look at the most anticipated biographical series of the year.

The Greatest, the first officially authorized scripted series chronicling the life of Muhammad Ali, will premiere globally on Prime Video on November 4, dropping all episodes at once.

What separates this project from every previous Ali story is the authorization behind it. Produced with the full support of Ali’s estate and his widow, Lonnie Ali, The Greatest isn’t working from the outside looking in. It’s going inside, past the legendary victories and devastating defeats in the ring, into the man himself. The Louisville kid who became Cassius Clay. The fighter who became Muhammad Ali. The icon who became something the world had never seen before.

The Greatest

Breakout actor Jaalen Best leads the series as Cassius Clay/Muhammad Ali, tracing his transformation from a young, ambitious boxer in Louisville into one of the most consequential figures in sports and social history. The ensemble around him includes Omari Hardwick and Dana Gourrier, who play Ali’s parents, Cassius Clay Sr. and Birdene Clay. Michael Ealy steps into the role of Malcolm X. Giovanni Ribisi plays legendary trainer Angelo Dundee. Amin Joseph is Sonny Liston. Kai Parham plays Rahaman Ali.

Showrunner and executive producer Ben Watkins of Blue Monday Productions leads the project alongside executive producer Michael B. Jordan through Outlier Society, with Authentic Brand Group, Roc Nation, Polygram, and Grace: A Storytelling Company all part of the production.

At Martha’s Vineyard, award-winning journalist Joy Reid moderated an intimate panel with Lonnie Ali, Ben Watkins, and Jaalen Best.

The Greatest hits Prime Video on November 4.
