Michael B. Jordan is officially getting his flowers—again—and this time, they come with a serious stamp of Hollywood respect. The American Cinematheque has just announced that the Creed star will be honored with its prestigious American Cinematheque Award later this year.
The annual award, which recognizes artists making a significant impact on the art of film, will be presented to Jordan on November 20 at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.
Let’s be real—this isn’t just about what Jordan has done, but what he represents. From breakout roles in Fruitvale Station to becoming a cultural force in Black Panther, to stepping behind the camera and making his directorial debut with Creed III, the man has been working. And more importantly, he’s been building on screen, behind the scenes, and in the community.
“Michael B. Jordan is being celebrated for his superb talent and purposeful vision that has made him a major power in today’s movie business,” said American Cinematheque Board Chair Rick Nicita.
Jordan’s most recent flex? Delivering not one, but two powerful performances in the box office smash Sinners, a project that’s only strengthened his status as both a leading man and a producer with real vision.
And let’s not forget this award puts him in the company of some serious Hollywood royalty. Past honorees include Denzel Washington, Eddie Murphy, Samuel L. Jackson, and more. So yes, Jordan is now part of that upper echelon. And honestly, he’s earned it.
Beyond the big screen, Jordan continues to build an empire through his production company, Outlier Society, and through philanthropic efforts that champion representation, education, and opportunity for the next generation.
With more directorial work on the horizon, a fourth Creed installment in the pipeline, and an ever-growing list of producing credits, this moment isn’t just a milestone—it’s a launchpad for even more.
Congratulations, Michael.
