The young man from Brooklyn, who rose to legendary heights, now has a new documentary coming to Netflix.

Eddie Murphy is opening up his home for the first time to share his most memorable experiences from his rise to prominence.

Director and two-time Oscar winner Angus Wall takes fans on an emotional ride, offering both laughter and tears, along with an Eddie they’ve never seen before. The film is produced by John Davis, John Fox, Charisse Hewitt, Terry Leonard, and Kent Kubena.

Now, it’s hard to explain when people were exactly introduced to him. It would’ve been when he first starred in SNL as a cast member and portrayed memorable characters like Buckwheat and Mr. Robinson, right?

Well, it must’ve been when he produced the comedy special RAW,“, which grossed $50 million in revenue. Not that one either?

Then, it definitely was when he played the lead role in movies like Beverly Hills Cop and Harlem Nights, where he directed, produced, and starred.

During a time when we were only presented in stereotypical roles, he presented us as entrepreneurs, kings and queens, and even a magical creature or two. No matter when you became a fan, it’s safe to say, you’ve heard his name or watched one of his films.

We’ve all come to love and respect what he’s paved for our culture. EDDIE gives us the opportunity to pull back the curtain on the box-office movie star and reveal to us the young man from Brooklyn, New York.

EDDIE will be released in 2025.
