Sterling K. Brown recently revealed that he turned down an opportunity to join the cast of Prime Video’s hit series The Boys.
In an interview with Variety, Brown shared the bittersweet decision to walk away from a season-long arc on the show.
Brown, who previously collaborated with The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke on Supernatural, admitted that the role was highly enticing.
“I think it was a bad guy [role], because it was very tempting,” Brown revealed. However, the logistical demands of filming a full season in Toronto was a dealbreaker for the Emmy-winning actor.

“Listen, these are Champagne problems I’m talking about here! But because I’m blessed enough to already have certain things in place, I get a chance to be a bit more choosy,” he added.
After starring in NBC’s hit TV show This Is Us for six seasons and appearing in a slew of movies like Netflix’s Atlas, Marvel’s Black Panther, and American Fiction, Brown has officially “made it.” He now has the luxury of picking and choosing his roles. Currently, he is the lead in Hulu’s upcoming series Paradise, where he plays a Secret Service agent who becomes the prime suspect in the President’s murder.
The Boys has become one of Amazon Prime Video’s most successful series. With a fifth and final season coming up, the show’s creator promises fans an epic conclusion.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Kripke wrote, “Season 5 will be the final season! Always my plan, I just had to be cagey till I got the final OK from Vought. Thrilled to bring the story to a gory, epic, moist climax.”
